We're Signature Shutters & Shades — a locally owned, family-run window covering company based in Meridian, serving the Boise and Treasure Valley area.
We're Troy and Angela, and between the two of us, we've called the Treasure Valley home for thirty years. We've spent that time in and out of Valley homes — walking through new builds, celebrating with friends on their first home purchase, and learning firsthand what actually makes a house feel finished. Somewhere along the way, we noticed the same thing over and over: the cabinets were custom, the trim was tight, the paint was dialed in — and then the windows got whatever covering was cheapest and fastest to hang.
That gap is exactly why Signature Shutters & Shades exists. We didn't want to run just another window covering company. We wanted to build the kind of shutters and shades we'd actually want in our own home — precisely fit, built to last, and finished like part of the house instead of something hung on top of it. Every detail we've put into this business comes from having stood in that half-finished room ourselves, wishing someone had gotten it right the first time.

One of us came at this from inside the houses. The other came at it from inside the factory.
Troy spent nearly thirty years as a building inspector here in the Treasure Valley — new builds, remodels, and plenty of forty-year-old ranches. That is a lot of time looking at window openings that were out of square, headers that had shifted, and casing that was hiding something.
That shows up in the measuring. He knows what a window is doing behind the trim, not just how it looks from the room, which is why a shutter we hang sits flat in an opening that isn’t.
It is also what makes the commercial side work. Reading plans, specs and window schedules is the same muscle he used for thirty years, so bidding and running commercial jobs — across the Treasure Valley and throughout Idaho — is familiar ground. Angela came at the same work from the other direction.
Angela grew up in the business. Her family owned a plantation shutter manufacturing plant, so she has known these products since childhood — how they are built, where they are strong, and what separates a panel that holds its shape from one that does not.
She runs the customer side from the first call through the final walkthrough, and she is usually the one who finds the option nobody else thought to show you. If something needs to be put right, she is the one who stays on it until it is.
What she loves is the walk back into a finished house — the moment a room becomes the thing the owners were hoping for and could not quite picture. That, and the clients who are still in touch years after the last panel went up.
We measure, fit, and finish every install like it's going in our own home — because that's genuinely how we treat it.

We specialize in helping homeowners finish out their homes with quality shutters, shades, blinds, and sun shades. We work closely with builders and sales consultants to make the process easy for buyers moving into a new home — and we're just as glad to help existing homeowners update or refresh the window coverings in the homes they're already living in. It doesn't always have to be new construction.
