One team, measuring and installing every product to the same high standard, every time.
Custom plantation shutters are precisely measured and installed for a clean, permanent look. They're one of the few window coverings known to add real resale value, plus year-round insulation benefits in Idaho's climate swings.
Louver size is the first real decision. A wider louver gives you a cleaner view out and more light when the panels are open; a narrower one reads more traditional and suits smaller windows and cottage-style homes. We bring samples so you can hold them up against your own trim instead of guessing from a photo.
Material matters most where moisture does. A hardwood shutter is beautiful in a living room or bedroom. In a bathroom, a laundry, or a kitchen window over the sink, a composite will hold its shape and finish for years longer and still look like wood from three feet away.
Shutters are joinery, not soft goods. They are hung in the opening and they stay with the house when you sell it. That is also why the measuring has to be right the first time: arches, angled tops, bay returns and out-of-square openings are all normal for us, and every panel is built to the numbers we take off your window and nothing else. Get a shutter quoteFrom soft light-filtering fabrics to full blackout, we fit interior shades to the room — nurseries, media rooms, home offices, and everywhere in between — with an eye toward energy efficiency in our hot summers and cold winters. We also install exterior sun shades for patios, decks, and outdoor living spaces, cutting glare and heat without blocking the view.
Shade is a broad word, so it helps to narrow it. Roller shades are the clean, modern option and the usual answer for a big window. Cellular shades trap air in their pleats and do genuine insulating work in both directions, which earns its keep on Idaho's summer afternoons and January nights. Roman shades bring fabric and softness. Woven woods bring texture. Dual or zebra shades let you switch between a sheer view and privacy without changing anything on the window.
Then there is how dark you want it. Light-filtering keeps a room bright while taking the edge off. Room-darkening cuts most of it. True blackout is a different build again, because the light that wakes you up comes around the edges rather than through the fabric. If you need a nursery or a media room genuinely dark, say so at the measure and we will build for it. How blackout shades actually work.
Two options worth knowing about: top-down/bottom-up, which gives you privacy at eye level while daylight keeps coming over the top, and motorization, which on tall or hard-to-reach glass is the difference between a shade that gets used and one that stays open. More on interior shades.

Blinds get the same careful measuring and installation attention as every other product we carry — a dependable option that still looks intentional, not stock.
Most of what we install here is faux wood, and for good reason. It handles humidity and direct sun without warping or fading, which makes it the sensible choice for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms and any window that takes hard afternoon light. Real hardwood blinds are lighter and warmer in the hand and belong in rooms where that matters and moisture does not. Aluminum still has a place on narrow or utility windows.
Slat width changes the look more than people expect. A wider slat gives a more open view and fewer lines across the window; a narrower one looks tidier on a small opening. It is worth seeing both against your own window before you decide.
One thing we do not treat as an upgrade: cordless lift on anything within a child's reach. Loose cords are the single real hazard in this trade and they are entirely avoidable, so cordless is where we start rather than something we add at the end. What to look for on older coverings. They cut direct sun and glare, drop the temperature of the space by several degrees, and add privacy in the evenings — all while leaving the view mostly open when you want it. We measure and install them to fit tight against the opening, so they run smoothly and look like they were part of the original build, not bolted on after the fact.
The decision most people have not thought about is fabric openness. A more open weave keeps more of the view and still cuts glare; a tighter weave blocks more heat and gives you more privacy in the evening, at the cost of some of the view. There is no universally right answer, and it usually differs between a west-facing patio and a covered porch on the north side of the same house.
The other decision is how it is operated. A crank is simple, costs less and never needs power. A motor makes sense on a wide opening, on anything above reach, or where you want it to drop automatically on a timer in the afternoon. More on exterior sun shades, or see how motorization works.

Custom curtains and drapes add the layer that hard window treatments can't — texture, drape, and color that pull a whole room together. We work with you on fabric, lining, and hardware to get the right look and function, whether that's soft light filtering or full room-darkening.
Two things decide whether drapery looks custom or looks hung. The first is mounting height: a rod set close to the ceiling rather than just above the frame makes the window read taller and the room read larger, and it costs nothing extra to do it that way. The second is lining, which is what gives a panel weight so it hangs in a proper column instead of hanging flat.
Curtains also work alongside hard window coverings rather than instead of them. A common pairing in Idaho homes is a functional shade doing the light and heat work with drapery panels at the sides for warmth and finish. We will tell you when a room genuinely needs both and when it does not.

Battery, solar, or hardwired, run from a remote, a wall switch, your phone, or a schedule, and it works with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home. It earns its cost on windows that are hard to reach, in homes with small children or pets, and on new builds where the wiring can go in before the drywall. See how motorized shades and blinds work.

Between us, thirty years in the Treasure Valley — in and out of Valley homes. Angela grew up in her family’s shutter plant and opened her own here in Idaho in 2020. She can build a plantation shutter start to finish and paint it herself — which is exactly why she knows what to look for in the ones we install.
